Hamlet cigars will be moved to Northern Ireland
Recently it has been announced about relocation of one British tobacco factory. In this case it is speaking about the Wales factory that produces the popular Hamlet cigars.
Hamlet cigars are well known for outstanding taste that is preferred by many. This “mild cigar” with the slogan “Happiness is a cigar called Hamlet” wins heart of professional cigar- amateurs.
Unfortunately, due to changes that have occurred in the country, company will change its location to the Northern Ireland in the coming year.
Factory that produces this outstanding tobacco product in located in Cardiff that had been established in 1961. Annually, this factory produces about 330 million cigars.
Cardiff factory belongs to the Gallaher Group, now owned by Japan Tobacco- third largest tobacco producer in the world. Gallaher Group is parent-producer of Benson & Hedges, Silk Cut and Mayfair in Britain.
Japan Tobacco is responsible for producing of Mild Seven and the Camel, Winston and Salem brands that are sold outside the United States.
The transfer is planned on September 2009. It will be moveded to the Lisnafillan factory. Closing of Cardiff factory will result 184 job-losing. Japan company said that it agreed to offer 95 jobs for Cardiff workers.
Veto on tobacco usage resulted in instability in sales and respectively this resulted in moving of some tobacco factories.
