Imperial Tobacco Opens Smoking Area at Birmingham Airport
The largest tobacco company, Imperial Tobacco, is glad to announce the opening of a modern airside smoking area at Birmingham Airport. Travelers will be able to enjoy their favorite smoking product away from wind or rain in a special area available from the airport’s new departure lounge bar. This really innovative area allows lighting, hand gel and some litter solutions. Additionally there is a departures board to assure passengers can follow their flights.
This high-tech smoking area has been created as part of Imperial Tobacco’s “Smoking Allowed” action, a highly proficient campaign to back adult smokers all over the UK. “Imperial Tobacco is greatly committed to backing those 12 million UK adults who want to light up and we seriously engage with consumers around the country to clear up the level of support they need,” Amal Pramanik, General Manager at Imperial Tobacco said in an interview. “In November 2011, we started “Smoking Allowed”, a long-dated programme of projects and activities to back smokers when they are travelling, working and relaxing. Within several months we have been operating with organizations across the country to ameliorate smoking area facilities for adult smokers and the present smoking area at Birmingham Airport is our current success story. “About 9 million travelers fly from Birmingham Airport annually and we have cooperated with the Airport on its terminal extension ideas to assure that we could offer Airside Smoking Balcony for smoking aficionados. Recent response has been amazing from passengers and the given smoking area is a great addition to our “Smoking Allowed” campaign. Such a campaign is gaining momentum and we are currently in collaboration with a number of locations all around the UK as we proceed to allow qualitative support for those UK adults who give preference to cigarette smoking.”
Birmingham Airport’s Head of Commercial, Richard Gill, declared: “Our main objective is to assure modern facilities for all our passengers and we are glad to be able to create this facility for those who want to light up as a feedback to research we led in order to find out what kind of facilities our passengers would like to see at Birmingham Airport.”
