Is never too late to benefit from stopping smoking
Smoking is a strong addiction for both body and mind. That is why it is so hard to stop. But, people succeeded to quit.
When the smoker quit smoking, he feels a serious influence on his personal chances of success. He experiences two sides of effects when he first stops smoking. There are the positive health effects that will gain from and the discomfort from the nicotine withdrawal side effects.
At the time nicotine withdrawal may seem very powerful. This is a very hard period because smoker can light up again.
Don’t do it, it is only a junkie thinking!
But if the smoker is a light smoker nicotine withdrawal can result in pretty much no side effects. For a heavy smoker, the withdrawal symptoms may be more severe.
These symptoms may include nausea, headaches, light-headedness, sore throat, runny nose, chesty cough, stomach ache, gas or constipation. There are also effects like irritability, insomnia, lack of concentration and of course the terrible cravings to smoke. But these symptoms last only a week or maybe a month. Nicotine withdrawal is just one of the things that happen to smoker when he/she stops smoking.
The health side of what happens to smokers when they stop smoking is the reason why they should persist in trying to stop smoking. In this period blood pressure and carbon monoxide levels in their blood will have lowered. Within a couple of days, the smoker lung function, blood circulation and sense of taste and smell will have improved.
The downside is that the smokers’ craving will probably be at their worst then too!
The good news is that after a year the risk of heart attack, in those smokers who quit, will subside to about half of that of a smoker. Also their circulation and lung function will have improved further still and they will look healthier, unlike a normal smoker with their grey skin and tar stained teeth and hair. Between 5 and 15 years after quitting, their risk of cancers of all forms including ling cancer will have at least halved.
A fact to bear in mind is that for every year after about the age of 40 that the smokers continue to smoke take about 3 months from their life expectancy.
But it is never too late to benefit from stopping.
Never doubt your decision to stop smoking!
