Smoking will be allowed at casino Enoch Cree
January 1, is the day when signs as “No smoking” will be placed in almost all indoor places in Edmonton. However, the Enoch council tries to keep one place where lightening up will be permitted, at River Cree Casino.
This bylaw was laid down by council, as affirmed said Enoch Chief Ron Morin there are people that continue to smoke and they ought to have at least one place where it wouldn’t be prohibited.
“They’re all adults because it is an adults-only entertainment venue and if adults want to choose a venue that has some smoking, they have that right,” said Enoch Chief Ron Morin.
River Cree Casino will be filled up with smokers, as this place will be the single place where lightening up will be allowed.
“If it’s a good product there and people like it, then the people will go to that place. Again, there is obviously a certain segment which does smoke still and we will capture some of that market but it is not the predominant reason they would choose the River Cree.”
Casinos are attended by adult people that are aware of what they want to do: to smoke or just to go to other edifices where lightening is banned.
Truly speaking, Edmonton smokers are lucky enough, since they have at least one place where they can rest and enjoy their habit without any restriction. There are states where smoking was prohibited even in private house. Many think of this restriction as of the direct violation of personal liberty.
