The smoking ban neglects the individual freedom

The smoking ban in public places becomes a widespread politics. This anti-tobacco law is one of the lasts introduced restriction that represents big interests for the American government. It gets to the status of public significance. Prohibition of public cigarette smoking in diverse regions developed different.

From South Carolina regions, the first state where was introduced smoking cigarette ban in public places were Sullivan Islands. But, the new restriction doesn’t show big enthusiasm among the population of that region.

Possibly, mainly it’s the opinion of the local tobacco users. The total amount of South Carolina’ cig smokers represent 26%. This is more than ? part of population. And the most remarkable fact is that from all tobacco users annually are collected 171 million dollars (according to Department of Revenue). This millions comes from cigarette taxes, fees and cigarette sale. It is the biggest amount from every taxes and fees that were ever paid by the population. It is an indisputable fact that this cigarette profits comes solely from the smoking tobacco parts of population. So, it cannot be denied that introduction of cigarette smoking ban affected the development of South regions, not very optimistically.

It is indisputable that all the adepts of the anti-tobacco policy who choice not to smoke or the secondhand smokers must be protected. It is their personal choice and right that must be respected and sustained. After introduction of public smoking veto, the locations for this category become public restaurants and bars. After was launched of cigarette law the number of these houses increased.

But what about the liberty of those who smoke? They also have the same individual liberty that must be respected. The private bars remain the single place where the cigarettes smoking are allowed.

The introducing of tobacco ban represents element of two completing liberties.

But as the state main issue is introducing of a completely anti-smoking culture it can be concluded that they would stop till the tobacco product would become a totally illegal product.

There are also other countries that met the same financial problem and it is the society’ choice how to balance and respect personal liberty of every citizen.
