According to the sales reports, experts recently made up a list of the most popular cigarette brands among US adult smokers. Here are the brands included in the list: winners:
1. Marlboro
Propriety of Philip Morris, the brand has known to be America’s top-selling cigarette since the early 1970s. Among the most popular promotional campaigns, there is the world-famous Marlboro Man, galloping through the Grand Canyon.
The cigarettes under the name of Marlboro were introduced to the market in 1902 by Philip Morris, a London-based Tobacco Company that moved to the US. The top-selling menthol brand was launched in 1957, produced by Lorillard Tobacco Company, the oldest cigarette-maker in the Unites States located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Newports are known under the nick-names such as the “new-pees,” “ports” and “newies.” Newport is the number one menthol cigarette and second-leading seller in the overall tobacco market across the nation. This brand is particularly successful in the African-American community, as it has a 49% market share among the African Americans.
3. Camel
Camel is the flagship brand of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco saw the world for the first time in 1913, becoming the first pre-packaged cigarette brand. Only a year after the introduction to the market, Camels became the best-seller across the nation, with 425 million packs sold within 12 months. Launched in 1969 by RJ Reynolds, the brand is the number one cigarette in the discount segment. Advertised as a economy-class brand that tastes like the luxury brands, Doral gained enormous popularity among middle and low-income class. Doral cigarettes have been included in the Top 10 ever since their launch, mainly because of its nice quality and pleasant price.
6. Pall Mall
