UK warning: Don’t buy cigarettes if you are not 18 years old!
Soon United Kingdom will launch a law that will restrict selling of tobacco products to those under 18.
Till now, legal age for buying cigarettes in UK was 16. New law ought to diminish number of smokers and so save more lives. So, minors have few days to take pleasure of the old law, because beginning with October, 1 they are not allowed to buy cigarettes and any tobacco products till 18. It is also prohibited to sale alcohol. This double- restriction will make it more efficient. Alcohol is also a problem, not only to UK. Retailers affirm that prohibition of alcohol will make easier putting the law into effect.
According to a secret document of the Department of Health, it will be saved 1,700 lives a year.
In order to make the movement more effective, cigarette vending machines will be also forbidden. This guarantees that children cannot get round the new laws by buying tobacco that way.
It is expected that rising of age will reduce smoking under 16s by 14 %.
Law will fit all the expectations, and in a little while, reports of Department of Health will relate a continuous falling of smoking rates, among minors at least.
